Vorrei incominciare nel descrivere, i pregi di questo modello. Le decalcomanie. Belle, bellissime. Questa volta la nostra Cartograf, ha fatto un lavoro eccellente. Erano anni che non mi capitava, che il film copiasse alla perfezione le pannellature. Forse , grazie alla combinazione da me trovata, ovvero: lucido Tamiya acrilico X-22, diluito con "Lacquer Thinner", e liquidi ammorbidenti per decals, Mr Setter e Mr Softer. In ogni modo il kit offre un lenzuolo di decals,pari a 6 nazioni per 19 varianti. La scelta è ricaduta sugli esemplari canadesi, che sono indubbiamente i più belli e colorati. Ardua è stata la scelta tra lo schema caldo dello "Snake" e il freddo "Faux Pax". Dopo varie prove colori e foto trovate in rete, ho scelto lo schema desertico molto bello, con una piccola variante, sui serbatoi alari, dipinti in rosso alta visibilità e nero, aggiungendo il serbatoio ventrale in metallo naturale tirato a lucido, che rompono la rigidità del classico schema militare.

Il montaggio del modello si è dimostrato scorrevole con pochi intoppi , dovuti alla numerosa scomposizione dello stampo , dal quale si ricava la versione monoposto. Buona la plastica, non vetrosa come in alcuni kit , e facile da re incidere, per le pannellature perse, in fase di carteggiatura. Ho costruito il modello praticamente da scatola, avendo un buon abitacolo, al quale ho aggiunto solo il dettaglio necessario, come alcuni cablaggi , nella zona di sollevamento, gli strumenti di volo, sotto forma di decals , e sostituendo radicalmente i seggiolini del kit, con le controparti in resina decisamente di qualità ottima. Ho dipinto il tutto con tecnica a forte contrasto cromatico. D'obbligo il dettaglio dei vani del carrello, ai quali mancavano le linee idrauliche, rifatte con filo di rame , stagno e fascette d' alluminio adesivo. La colorazione è molto semplice e affidata all' alluminio.

L'unica zona che richiede maggiore attenzione durante l' assemblaggio finale e l'unione dei due tronchi principali, inserendo un pezzo di plastica a misura ,che garantisce l'allineamento delle relative pannellature. Ho aggiunto anche una zavorra corretta tra il pozzetto anteriore e l'abitacolo, onde il modello possa sedersi in coda; sono bastati una decina di grammi in piombi da pesca.

Una zona stranamente trascurata, sono gli ugelli di scarico. Se da una parte presentano un buon dettaglio corrugato nella corona interna, dall' altra, il fondo finisce pieno, senza dettaglio. Ho risolto stampando l'ultimo stadio del compressore e incollandolo semplicemente , creando l'illusione, piuttosto che vedere il nulla.

Ho deciso di non montare nessun carico, alare chiudendo i fori per i piloni ,per non rovinare la siluette del modello. Tutta la dotazione di carichi alari, missili ,bombe ,razziere e serbatoi, sono finiti nel magazzino degli avanzi, facendo compagnia ad altri pezzi  avanzati. Non si sa mai ...

Colorazione

Finalmente, sono giunto alla colorazione. Avevo deciso di fare il velivolo con i colori canadesi, in quanto più belli e interessanti. Su alcuni pezzi di scarto ho provato il colori delle quattro mimetiche proposte. Sicuramente tutti belli, ma lo schema aggressor "Snake" ha prevalso su tutti, per il calore dei suoi toni. Ma fino alla sua realizzazione lo schema Faux Pax, a toni azzurri, era in lizza, seguito da quello argento e rosso alta brillantezza.

Mascherati i trasparenti , ho lavato il modello con alcol , in maniera da sgrassarlo e togliere lo sporco e impronte. Ho scelto i Gunze tra i miei colori. Belli e facili da usare. Purtroppo il colore FS 34258, non è disponibile nel range della Gunze, e l'ho creato aggiungendo al H312 verde Israeliano , del giallo arancio H 24. (vedi tabella).ho abbozzato come mio solito le linee dei colori con una matita morbida,dopo di che caricato l' aerografo, ho seguito le stesse con i colori della mimetica, riempiendo poi, le chiazze con sottili strati di colore, dal più chiaro al più scuro, in diversi passaggi, senza coprire la pre ombreggiatura, fatta con colori similari ma più scuri, in maniera che trasparissero nei passaggi successivi. In oltre , ho schiarito alcuni punti del modello con del bianco, creando delle zone di luce di massima. Questo passaggio è importante , in quanto le fasi successive di lucido e opaco. Una curiosità. A mimetica completata, ho fatto una ricerca accurata dal soggetto da me scelto, ovvero 809 rosso. Girovagando tra vari siti, mi sono imbattuto in uno canadese, dove è pubblicato l' 809 con le taniche alari in rosso alta brillantezza e il "centerline" , in metallo lucido. Ho avuto una folgorazione per il contrasto cromatico. La mimetica rotta dall' eccessivo contrasto anti mimetico, è ho deciso di farlo anch'io così. Per la cronaca, ho visionato altre foto, dove lo stesso esemplare, monta i serbatoi alari con un altro schema mimetico. Il Ghost.

Mi preme sottolineare , che ho trovato una combinazione eccellente , secondo il mio modesto parere. La diluizione della vernice acrilica trasparente Tamiya X-22 Clear, con il diluente "Lacquer Thinner"( applicato ad aerografo 1.2 psi) , fa si che le superfici risultino estremamente lucide e perfette e pronte per ricevere le decals. E qui c'è l'imbarazzo della scelta, ben 19 soggetti proposti dal foglio decals

Come dicevo in apertura dell'articolo, le decalcomanie si sono rivelate fantastiche sotto ogni punto di vista. Colori saturi , stampa perfetta e sopratutto film privo di effetto silvering , oltre a copiare le linee dei pannelli in maniera irreprensibile, quasi da sembrare stampate. Letteralmente risucchiate ,nei pannelli, grazie ai liquidi Mr Hobby: Mr Setter (blu) e Mr Softer. Consentitemi di dire , meglio del classico sistema SuperScale. A decals asciutte dopo 24 h ,una nuova passata di lucido e poi opaco, e seguita la fase d'invecchiamento, mediante i liquidi della AK per l 'uso Aeronautico ed evidenziando le pannellature con colori tono su tono, ovvero marrone per il sabbia, marrone scuro su terra e verde scuro sul verde, facendo un usura modesta, sul modello, dato che questi esemplari, nelle foto risultano molto ben tenuti.

Ho completato il modello con le parti omesse, pitot, tettucci portelli carrello ecc.. come si fa solitamente no?

Che dire , un modello molto carino e ben fatto, con diverse lacune per via delle istruzioni di montaggio poco accurate e con diversi errori,sinceramente non giustificabili. Le informazioni sono in abbondanza e accessibili a tutti, questo, l'unico aspetto negativo del kit che mi sento di criticare.

I would like to begin in describing the advantages of this model. The decals. Beautiful, beautiful. This time our Cartograf, did an excellent job. Perhaps, thanks to the combination of me found, namely: glossy Tamiya Acrylic X-22, diluted with "Lacquer Thinner", and liquid softeners decals, Mr. Setter and Mr. Softer. In any case, the kit provides a sheet of decals, equal to 6 nations to 19 variants. The choice fell on copies Canadians, who are undoubtedly the most beautiful and colorful. Difficult was the choice between the pattern of hot "Snake" and the cold "Faux Pax". After several tests and color photos found on the net, I chose the pattern desert very nice, with a little variation, the wing tanks, painted in red and black high visibility, adding the ventral tank metal natural polished, which break the rigidity the classic pattern military.

The mounting of the model proved sliding smoothly with few, due to the large displacement of the mold, from which it derives the seat version. Good plastic, not glass as in some kits, and easy to re affect, for the paneling lost, during sanding. I built the model from virtually box, having a good interior, to which I added only the necessary detail, as some wiring in the area of lifting, flight instruments, in the form of decals, and replacing radically seats kit, with counterparties resin definitely quality excellent. I painted everything with technical, high-contrast color. A must detail of the compartments of the truck, who lacked the hydraulic lines, redone with copper wire, tin and straps d 'aluminum adhesive. The coloring is very simple and entrusted to 'aluminum.

The only area that requires more attention during the 'final assembly and the union of the two main trunks, inserting a piece of plastic to size, which ensures the alignment of its panels. I also added a proper ballast between the front cockpit and the cabin, so the model can sit in the queue; took only about ten grams in fishing sinkers.

A zone strangely neglected, are the discharge nozzles. While presenting a good detail in the corrugated inner corona, from 'the other, the fund ends up full, without detail. I solved it by printing the last stage of the compressor and pasting it simply, creating the illusion, rather than see anything.

I decided not to mount any load, closing the holes for the wing pylons, not to ruin the silhouette of the model. Entire endowment wing loadings, missiles, bombs, rocket pods and tanks, are finished in the warehouse leftovers, keeping company with other pieces left. You never know ...

coloration

Finally, I came to the coloration. I had decided to make the aircraft with the colors Canadians Air Force , as the most beautiful and interesting. On some scrap pieces I tried the camouflage colors of the four proposals. Surely all beautiful, but the scheme aggressor "Snake" has prevailed over all, for the warmth of his tone. But until its realization scheme "Faux Pax", in shades of light  blue, was in contention, followed by silver and red high gloss.

Masked transparencies, I washed the model with alcohol, in order to degrease and remove dirt and fingerprints. I chose the Gunze between my colors. Beautiful and easy. Unfortunately the color FS 34258 is not available in the range of Gunze, and I created adding to the Israeli H312 green, yellow, orange H 24. (see table) .I sketched as my usual lines of colors with a soft pencil, after which loaded the 'airbrush, I followed the same with the colors of camouflage, filling then, the patches with thin layers of color, from lightest to darkest, in several steps, without covering the pre shading, made with similar colors but darker, so that seen in subsequent steps. In addition, I have clarified some points of the model with the white, creating areas of light to the maximum. This step is important, as the successive steps of glossy and matte. A curiosity. A camouflage completed, I made a thorough search of the subject I chose, or 809 red. Wandering among various sites, I came across one Canadian, where he published the '809 with wing tanks in red high gloss and the "centerline", polished metal. I had an electric shock to the color contrast. The mimetic route from 'excessive contrast anti camouflage, you've decided to do it too well. For the record, I have viewed other photos, where the same specimen, assembles wing tanks with another camouflage pattern. The Ghost.

I must stress, I found an excellent combination, in my humble opinion. The dilution of transparent acrylic paint Tamiya X-22 Clear, with the "Lacquer Thinner" (applied to airbrush 1.2 psi), means that the surfaces are extremely shiny and perfect and ready to receive the decals. And here are spoiled for choice, as many as 19 subjects proposed by decals sheet

As I said in the opening article, decals proved fantastic from every point of view. Saturated colors, perfect print and especially film without silvering effect, in addition to copy the lines of the panels in an irreproachable manner, as to seem almost printed. Literally sucked, panels, thanks to liquids Mr. Hobby: Mr. Setter (blue) and Mr. Softer. Allow me to say, better than the classic system Super scale. A decals dry after 24 h, an additional cut of shiny and matte then, and followed the aging phase, using liquids of AK 's use Aeronautics and highlighting the paneling with matching colors, or brown for the sand, dark brown on the ground and dark green on the green, making a modest wear on the model, since these specimens, the pictures are very well kept.

That is, a model very cute and well done, with several gaps due to the installation instructions inaccurate and with several mistakes, I really do not justifiable. Information is abundant and accessible to all, this, the only negative aspect of the kit that I would criticize.
